Here’s a new batch of wool coats in dark grey, burgundy red and mustard yellow. They’ve been made to size Large using 350 GSM Melton wool excellently woven and processed in Korea and Japan using Australian grown wool. from Waverley Mills in Tasmania. This is very soft to the touch, soft enough to wear on bare skin. The felted weave is dense enough to block wind and rain.
The Wool Coat is a pullover, designed to be worn under the Waxed Canvas Anorak or as a garment in its own right.
The Wool Coat is an important, hard wearing, comfortably loose fitted, always present, warmth layer to your outdoor clothing. Ideally worn with the Wool Pants.
The Wool Coat has a fitted hood that moves with your head, big roomy hand pocket for comfort and warmth, all key wear edges are reinforced with with waxed canvas binding around the hood, cuffs, pocket edges, waist and coat hem.
We recommend getting the wool glove mittens with this coat. We wear the wool coat with the wool pants, over the possum/merino/silk knit sweater, and the hemp cotton knit base layers.
This coat is a very hard wearing, thoughtfully designed and made here in the studio in small batch runs. It’s an essential bit of gear in the bush.
The Wool Coat is designed to be roomy and long in the arm. This is to ensure maximum cover and freedom of movement when done up, and when being pulled over the head.
Before taking your measurements, please wear the clothes you’ll likely wear under your coat.
Small: Chest 80-85cm (31-33 inches), arm 50-55cm (19-22 inches)
Medium: Chest 85-100cm (33-39 inches), arm 55-60cm (19-24 inches)
Large: Chest 100-115cm (39-45 inches), arm 60-65cm (24-26 inches)
