Anorak and Wool Coat launches on Kickstarter

The 2022 campaign for the waxed canvas anorak and introducing the wool coat will soon go live on Kickstarter. We’ve increased the target for anorak orders from 100 to 200, after learning that the 100 target was a break even amount, and 200 a more financially sustainable quantity. The wool coat / anorak liner target will be 100 for it’s introductory year.

Any changes to the anorak this year?

The design of the anorak remains mostly the same. We're changing the zipper a little, only because we've found a YKK brass zipper that is still made in Australia. This new zipper also helps us simplify production and end user experience.

Sizing

We're doing 4 sizes this year, for the anorak and the wool coat. The following measurements are of the wearer's body, not the garment. Measure yourself wearing what you would likely wear under your anorak:

  • Small: Chest 80-85cm, arm 50-55cm

  • Medium: Chest 85-100cm, arm 55-60cm

  • Large: Chest 100-115cm, arm 60-65cm

  • Extra large: Chest 115-140cm, arm 65-70cm

About the wool coat / anorak liner

  • The wool coat / anorak liner is a versatile and robust garment for warmth and activity. It can be worn by itself, or buttoned into the waxed canvas anorak.

  • The density and thickness of the merino wool buffers the cold wind, resists moisture in the air, and retains body heat.

  • Sparks and flame from a camp fire will bounce off the coat, as will most fuels and chemicals that corrode plastics.

  • The YKK brass zippers open the coat up on both sides for extra ventilation, or to convert it to a poncho or full body length blanket.

  • The hood is fitted to ensure full vision is maintained when turning the head.

  • Big roomy hand pockets offer comfort and compliment the anorak pockets.

  • Buttons are used to set the coat into the waxed canvas anorak as an insulation liner.
