Wool pants in dark grey melton, colour options displayed in patches

There’s a new batch of wool pants in colours at the ready. They are made ready for you to send your waist and leg measurements for me to finish them to measure. More info and instructions for measuring are on the product page.

Dark grey, burgundy red, mustard yellow and violet blue. All but the blue are 100% wool melton mid weight (~400GSM). That’s a thick wool blanket weight. The blue is a 100% wool flannel at about 350GSM. Flannel is a soft wool woven to a moderate density and brushed to give a very flexible, soft and warm cloth. It is not as weather resistant as melton. Melton is used on the dark grey, burgundy red and mustard yellow. Melton is a heavier wool fabric that is densely woven and slightly felted. It is the most weather resistant of the woollen clothing fabrics and usually courser or scratchier (think military coats). The melton I’ve sourced however is very soft to touch and easy to wear against the skin.

I resolved the design for these wool pants in December 2024, and put out a batch in a dark grey melton cloth from Japan. This batch is on a range of colours with cloth from Japan and Korea this time. They are some of the best melton and flannel I’ve seen so far, and this will most likely be the last batch for 2025.
